At the heart of The Blue Hole in East Texas (Not to be confused with the other Blue Hole in Central Texas), natural springs emerge from the earth's depths, feeding into a spectacular bright blue and crystal-clear lake. These waters, pure and refreshing, with the promise of therapeutic remedies, are buffered by sandstone cliffs and East Texas pines, nestled secretly close to the woods of the Angelina National Forest in Jasper County. The 12-acre lake is privately owned, but it is worth the trek to witness its captivating beauty and swim in its waters in the future.
One individual from the group of owners recently bought the Blue Hole from the other owners. Unfortunately, this amazing, secluded swimming hole is currently closed to the public. The Blue Hole is a remarkable hidden treasure; we hope it will be accessible to the public again soon. Please keep an eye here on our exclusive website for any updates regarding its availability.

Paddling Through Paradise
Navigating the calm waters of Caddo Lake brings you face-to-face with an aquatic garden of floating water lilies. Their delicate blooms, ranging from pure whites to deep pinks, create a tapestry of color that contrasts stunningly against the dark water.
Photography Tips
Capturing the beauty of Caddo Lake's water lilies requires patience, timing, and a keen eye for detail. The best photographs often come in the soft light of early morning or late afternoon when the sun casts a golden glow over the lake. This magical light brings out the vibrant colors of the lilies and creates a dreamlike, enchanting atmosphere.
Tyler is renowned for its ability to cultivate these beautiful flowers globally, so it’s not a hidden gem but is definitely worth visiting. Plus, Tyler has more to offer than just roses. Imagine walking through a living museum where every tree, every bloom, and every creature tells a story of resilience and beauty. The Stephen F. Austin Gardens is located under the pines, an unassuming haven nestled in the heart of East Texas and Texas’ oldest city, Nacogdoches. This little city is over 300 years old and is called the “Garden Capital of Texas” for good reason. Stephen F. Austin University specializes in forestry and agriculture, so you’ll find an astonishing collection of gardens, azalea landscapes, trails, a nature center, and a nursery. It is one of my favorite hidden gems for its beauty, enchanted grounds, and diversity.
Tucked away in the lush embrace of East Texas lies an enchanting retreat known to few outside the local circles. This secluded paradise, The Blue Hole, offers a serene escape into nature's lap. Crystal-clear, spring-fed, bright blue waters cascade into a tranquil swimming hole framed by the lush tapestry of the surrounding piney woods.
In addition to this hidden gem, two other spring-fed lakes are entirely open to the public. Their beauty is astounding, and their calm, crisp, natural spring waters are refreshing. There are other East Texas springs and lakes, but we’ll focus on these three.
